BIO
Casey Cope is a Bay Area rapper, producer, and engineer whose music seamlessly blends jazz-infused hip-hop with the raw, unfiltered energy of indie and ‘90s rock. With influences spanning from Childish Gambino & Kid Cudi to Smashing Pumpkins & The 1975, Cope’s approach is deeply personal and sonically expansive. His beats are rich with live instrumentation, layered over hard-hitting drums and distorted guitar riffs, while weaving in the shimmering synths and moody, experimental pop textures of introspective modern artists. Lyrically, he navigates personal struggles, self-discovery, and resilience, crafting songs that feel cinematic in their depth and honesty.
Beyond his solo work, Cope is a driving force in the independent music scene. He co-founded Qamp alongside longtime collaborator Marquito, a three day album-making experience where 20 hand-selected artists come together to create a fully realized project from scratch. Hosted at his studio, The Q in Berkeley, this immersive creative process thrives on spontaneity, collaboration, and raw artistic energy, embodying Cope’s belief in the power of community-driven music.
Casey Cope is not only an artist, but a curator of sound, a builder of spaces, and a relentless innovator. Whether in the studio, on stage, or leading a collective of artists at The Q, he continues to push boundaries, constantly in search of what independent music can be.
